What can I say.. What a Night...!!!!
“I am absolutely thrilled to have made it into the Top Ten for the second year running, the competition as a whole this year has been a real tough one, Photographers from across the UK & Europe have entered some incredible strong and stunning images consistently throughout the year. I feel very humbled and proud to be among the winners”
The Guilds ceremony was held at the stunning Crewe Hall and it’s an event that no Guild member wants to miss, it’s certainly was a night to remember..Good friends good company and fantastic food in stunning surroundings.. (I can definitely recommend the Afternoon tea at Crewe Hall)

Steven Thirsk, Director of the Guild presenting me with my certificate..

Thank you to Rachael Foster Photography for taking the official images on the night..

The Guild said, “The Image of the Month Competition is not just a monthly competition, it’s so much more.. Getting a monthly award is one thing, but obtaining awards month after month is another, hence the Photographer of the Year title chase is so demanding ... as is producing that one very special image which could become an Image of the Year! Entrants have to get the approval of a full Panel of highly esteemed judges from multiple association backgrounds - it's tough..! In 2014 there were around 10,000 images entered into the competition and just over 50 awards were given in the Photographer of the Year competition” People can "give-up" along the way as the competition is a marathon with an emotional roller coaster ride - perseverance is key to doing well!

I have also achieved Lifetime membership in the ‘Photographers Bar’

The Guild said “Now this is really tough -. Becoming a member of the Photographer's Bar is a unique distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the Guild over the course of a year, and attained a score equating to a point for each entry made, thereby evidencing an exceptional level of professional skill and consistency - a distinction that is very difficult to achieve!! Nearly 500 different photographers entered our monthly competition in 2014 and only 23 people achieved it! To gain membership you had to get 27 points from 27 Photographer of the Year selected images in 9 months within one genre (ie 27 points from 27 pre-selected images)

I have made some wonderful friends on this Photography journey. The support I've received from you all (Family, Friends, Clients and My wonderful followers) has been wonderful and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.. All your support has definitely been one of the key factors that aided to my success. On the whole 2014 was an incredible year and I'm sure 2015 will have many great adventures, I hope you will continue this journey with me...!!! Hard work is what dreams are made of ;-)

I'm also very proud to announce that my friend, colleague and fellow Wildlife photographer Tracey Lund also achieved a place in the Top Ten, is now a member of the 'Photographers Bar' and also a Winner in 'Image of the year' Nature & Wildlife Category, so very proud of her achievements.. Onward and upwards Tracey ;-)

A couple of my Favorite images from the year which received Gold Bars..
